Not long ago I spotted a message from someone who was questioning whether or not it was true that a successful eBook publishing business could be operated from a laptop computer.
When you stop and think about it, running a business of any kind from a highly portable computer system like a laptop is a dream come true. You can quite literally take your business with you wherever you go. I'm a really big fan of laptop computers. They're inexpensive, highly portable, compact, and just an all around charm to work with. Of course, I highly recommend maintaining backups of everything on your system in case you run into a problem. But otherwise, really, they're just a fantastic business platform.
So is it true? Can you really operate a successful eBook publishing company from a laptop computer? The answer is yes.
I do it. Now, does this mean you can't use a desktop computer? Of course not, you can use whatever computer system you're most comfortable with. But let's set the record straight once and for all. You really CAN run your company from a laptop computer.Here's my recommendation: if you're just starting out as an eBook publisher, use whatever computer system you have at your disposal. Don't be too picky about it. But once you start to generate some money, and can afford to upgrade your equipment, consider investing in a laptop computer. I promise you'll thank me later!
