If you currently own and operate a personal computer (or PC for short) then there are a few methods that you can use to make your system run a little bit faster. Take these steps to speed up a PC with just a little bit of effort.
System Tools
If you are running the Windows operating system, all you need to use is already preloaded on your computer. Simply click on the start button and navigate to 'Accessories' (if you are currently running Windows Vista, then you may need to click on 'All programs' before you will be able to see 'Accessories'). After you click on 'Accessories', you should navigate to a folder called 'System Tools'. Inside this folder, you will find all kinds of tools to speed up a PC.
Disk Cleanup
The first tool that you should use is called disk cleanup. This tool will help guide you through the process of deleting unnecessary files from your computer. When there are fewer files on your computer, it will work faster. The program will help you delete things like your Recycle Bin and temporary Internet files. These are files that you do not really need to keep on your computer. Just pay attention, because you may not necessarily want to delete everything that it suggests.
Disk Defragmenter
The next tool, and quite possibly the most powerful, is called the disk defragmenter. The defragmenter tool will help to organize the files on your hard disk. The hard disk is the physical piece of hardware inside of your computer where your files are stored. This tool will actually physically relocate where the memory is located on your hard drive. It will place your most often used files in a place on the hard disk where your computer can access it more quickly.
See? The tools you need to speed up your computer are already installed with the operating system. It is not that hard to speed up a PC, you just need to know how to do it.
